EMB National Capital Region Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement Division (EMED) Ambient Water Unit (AWU) personnel conducted water sampling on two stations under Paso de Blas Creek as part of the Adopt an Estero/Waterbody Program at Valenzuela City last Wednesday, February 10, 2021.

Said stations are Paso de Blas and West Service Road. The collected samples will be analyzed to determine the current levels of Dissolved Oxygen (DO) Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Nitrates (NO3), Phosphates (PO4), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), and Fecal Coliform.

They also used YSI ProDss, a Multiparameter Water Quality Probe, to analyze the water temperature, acidity (pH), salinity, conductivity, total dissolved solids, and turbidity.

The said activity is in line with Adopt-an-Estero/Waterbody Program, which aims to prepare and implement plans to sustain cleanliness of esteros. The said program is also in line with the ongoing Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program as the esteros drain directly to Manila Bay.
