Several years after the passage and full implementation of Republic Act 9003, the regional offices of the Environmental Management Bureau have fully committed to further strengthening the awareness of all sectors in promoting proper solid waste management through the Basura Patrol Program. The said program, which was recently launched, aims to intensify EMB’s means of monitoring the compliance of barangays on the provisions of RA 9003, specifically on illegal dumping.
As part of EMB-NCR’s goal of increasing public awareness on the implementation of the Basura Patrol Program in Metro Manila, the May 27, 2016 airing of Tinig ng Kalikasan was dedicated to the discussion of the said program. Valued guests during the airing were no other than EMB’s Solid Waste Management Division Chief and concurrent National Solid Waste Management Commission Executive Director Engr. Eligio Ildefonso, and Mr. Mansueto Bolivar, Chief of the Solid Waste Management Section of the EMB-NCR.
