EMB National Capital Region through its Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement Division-Ambient Air Unit (EMED-AAU) personnel conducted maintenance, cleaning, and replacement of Continuous Ambient Air Monitoring Station (CAAMS) equipment on different stations in Metro Manila last Friday, February 19.
During the inspection, they conducted maintenance and cleaning of high volume sampler in Makati Station and high volume motors in DOH Station. They also conducted Total Suspended Particle (TSP) sampling on the latter station and Particulate Matter 10 (PM10) sampling in MMDA, NPO, and Muntinlupa Stations. The personnel also replaced the shelter of Continuous Air Monitoring Station (CAMS) in Malabon City.
Ambient air monitoring is the systematic, long-term assessment of pollutant levels by measuring the quantity and types of certain pollutants in the surrounding, outdoor air.
