METRO MANILA, Philippines – On Wednesday, June 30, Environmental Management Bureau – National Capital Region through the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GADFPS) conducted rice distribution to selected women of Barangay Central, Quezon City who participated in the Training and Production of Bokashi Balls last May 31, 2021.

Each participant was given 15 kilograms of rice for every 100 pieces of mudballs produced during the home-based mudballs production livelihood program, conceptualized under the “Food for Work for Community Women”.

During the distribution, the office also conducted simultaneous throwing of mudballs on five (5) identified creeks that are part of the Water Quality Management Areas namely: Lingunan Creek; Mariblo Creek; Diliman Creek; Anaran Creek; and Maytunas Creek while observing COVID-19 Minimum Health and Safety Protocols (MHSP).

The said activities are in support of the Gender and Development (GAD) program on empowering income-deprived women, promoting gender equality, and in support of the ongoing Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program.
