MANILA, Philippines – EMB National Capital Region Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement Division (EMED) Ambient Water Unit (AWU) personnel conducted water sampling along Baywalk and Baseco Beachfront connected outfalls last Monday, April 19 amidst the Modified Enhance Community Quarantine in Metro Manila.

Said stations include: Station 7, Station 8, Station 9, Station 10, and Villar Lagoon. The collected samples will be analyzed to determine the current levels of Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Nitrates (NO3), Phosphates (PO4), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), and Fecal Coliform.

The EMB-NCR personnel used a digital sampling system called YSI ProDss, a Multiparameter Water Quality Probe, to analyze the water temperature, acidity (pH), salinity, conductivity, total dissolved solids, and turbidity.

The sampling was conducted while observing COVID-19 Minimum Health and Safety Protocols (MHSP).

The said activity is in line with the ongoing Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program.
