EMB National Capital Region’s Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement Division (EMED) Ambient Water Unit (AWU) personnel conducted water sampling at Meycauayan-Valenzuela River System last Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
Said stations are: Canumay, Coloong, Maysilo, Meycauayan, Polo Creek, Polo River, and Pugad Baboy. The collected samples will be analyzed to determine the current levels of Dissolved Oxygen (DO) Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Nitrates (NO3), Phosphates (PO4), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), and Fecal Coliform.
They also used YSI ProDss, a Multiparameter Water Quality Probe, to analyze the water temperature, acidity (pH), salinity, conductivity, total dissolved solids, and turbidity.
The said activity is conducted to analyze if the said waterbodies and tributaries are kept within the Water Quality Guidelines or Criteria as part of the WQMA Action Plan which aims to address water quality issues and improvements.
