EMB National Capital Region Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement Division (EMED)  Ambient Water Unit (EMED-AWU) personnel conducted water sampling along the Manila Bay Outfalls last Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (February 15, 16, and 17).

The collected samples will be analyzed to determine the current levels of Dissolved Oxygen (DO) Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Nitrates (NO3), Phosphates (PO4), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), and Fecal Coliform.

They used YSI ProDss, a Multiparameter Water Quality Probe, to analyze the water temperature, acidity (pH), salinity, conductivity, total dissolved solids, and turbidity.

Stations include: Baseco Beachfront (Stations 7, 8, 9, 10, and Villar Lagoon), Baywalk (Admiral Hotel, Grand Boulevard Hotel, Marbella, MMDA Bikelane, Quirino Ambient, and Quirino Drainage), BASECO Lagoon (MYC STP and Estero de Abad), Philippine Navy to Marina (Aseana, CCP, Gloria Maris, GSIS, Marina, MOA Esplanade, MOA Outfalls 1, 2, 3, Okada, Philippine Navy Pier, Seascape, Sofitel, and Solaire), and Manila North Harbor (Stations 1 ,4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18).

The said activity is in line with the ongoing Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program.
