EMB National Capital Region successfully maintained its ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) certification after it’s second follow-up audit through 100% remote audit via Zoom Meeting last Monday, November 9, 2020 by TÜV Rheinland, a company that established the pioneering international certification body in the Philippines.

EMB-NCR was commended by the TÜV Rheinland auditors for its awards and achievements, notable among them are the Bronze Award under the Enhanced Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) given by the Civil Service Commission last July 24, 2019. Another was the WP1119 Water Pollution Proficiency Testing Study with a rate of 100% conducted by Phenova Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) on December 26, 2019. Likewise, the on-line EMB-NCR learning facility (elearning-embncr.thinkific.com) that started last April 2020. Also, the On-line Processing (OPMS – Online Permitting and Monitoring System) for receiving, processing and issuance of discharge permit and  permit to operate, launched on May 28, 2020 and lastly, the POLLUTION CONTROL OFFICER (PCO) ACCREDITATION ON-LINE PROCESSING SYSTEM (PCOA-OPS).

ISO 9001 is defined as the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It is the most popular standard in the ISO 9000 series and the only standard in the series to which organizations can certify.

This ensures that all processes and issuances of all environmental-related permits, clearances & certificates, and monitoring of compliances to applicable environmental laws and regulations of establishments within the National Capital Region fulfills the necessary requirements in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standard.
