MANILA, Philippines – Environmental Management Bureau – National Capital Region joins the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in an on-site meeting and inspection with Secretary Roy A. Cimatu at Remedios wastewater interceptor and Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Baywalk Area, Manila on Friday, August 27. The said meeting and inspection are in line with the ongoing Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program. The water treatment plant can treat up to 500,000 liters of intercepted wastewater coming from the drainage outfalls per day, reducing the amount of untreated water going to the bay. Personnel from LLDA, DPWH, MMDA, DENR NCR West Field Office, SRAC, Manila Bay Coordinating Office, JDP Construction and Trading, and Dragonhart Construction Enterprise, Inc. are also present at the event. The said activity was conducted while observing COVID-19 Minimum Health and Safety Protocols (MHSP).
