EMB NCR Receives Recognition during the RA 9003 Anniversary Celebration
EMB NCR Regional Director Vizminda A. Osorio received from the National Solid Waste Management Commission represented by DENR Undersecretary Jonas R. Leones, Commissioner Crispian Lao, Vice Chair; Commissioner Romeo Hidalgo and Director Eligio Ildefonso, NSWMC/S and concurrent SWMD Chief, a Plaque of Recognition for the region’s exceptional contribution and unwavering support to the 17 Local Government Units in NCR to comply with the implementation of RA9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000) specifically in the submission and approval of the NCR LGUs 10 Year SWM Plans last 29 January 2016 held at the Air Quality Management Training Center, Quezon City.
EMB NCR Supports the Basura-Free Elections 2016 “Kalat Ko, Linis Ko”
EMB NCR through its Regional Director Vizminda A. Osorio joined DENR Undersecretary Jonas Leones, DILG’s Atty. Maria Rhodora Flores, National Solid Waste Management Commissioners Crispian Lao and Romeo Hidalgo and EMB-SWMD Chief/NSWMCS Executive Director Eligio Ildefonso in signing the Manifesto of Commitment for the Basura-Free Election 2016 with the theme “Kalat ko, Linis Ko”. The objectives of the Basura-Free Elections 2016 are: to promote a litter-free election through the implementation of waste reduction, segregation and proper disposal of wastes generated during the campaign and election period, to encourage would-be public servants and supporters to use resources sensibly and to seek commitment of political parties and candidates to properly manage wastes campaign materials during election campaign and after the election period. LGUs from Region 4A particularly Batangas, Quezon and Laguna also signed the said Manifesto. Held last 29 January 2016 at the Air Quality Management Training Center, Quezon City.
