QUEZON CITY, Metro Manila – Environmental Management Bureau National Capital Region remains ISO certified (ISO 9001:2015) after the Quality Management System (QMS) on-site audit by the TÜV Rheinland company on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.

The office was commended for its recognitions which include the Mark of Gratitude for the commitment and support that lead to the successful conduct of 2020 Assessment of LGU’sCompliance with MBCRP Program; and implementations of different programs in accordance with the New Normal such as the assistance given to all employees and those who were tested positive on COVID-19, the implementation of Human Resource Informatiom System (HRIS) for its employees, and the development and usage of Safe Trip App. Another is the google based monitoring system from decision to payment for the permits and violation and the installation of the Water Quality Monitoring Equipment in Manila Bay, where it gathers data without the need for physical sampling or human interventions, which is very useful especially during the pandemic to avoid possible risks during onsite sampling.

ISO 9001 is defined as the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It is the most popular standard in the ISO 9000 series and the only standard in the series to which organizations can certify.

This ensures that all processes and issuances of all environmental-related permits, clearances & certificates, and monitoring of compliances to applicable environmental laws and regulations of establishments within the National Capital Region fulfills the necessary requirements in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standard.
