Manila, Philippines – The Environmental Management Bureau – National Capital Region was recognized and awarded a Plaque of Appreciation by the USAID-CRS Project SUCCESS (Strengthening Urban Communities Capacity to Endure Severe Shocks). Regional Director Atty. Domingo M. Clemente, Jr. received the award at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila last September 26, 2019.

Project SUCCESS is led by the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and has strong collaborative linkages with government partners, including local and city officials, which will be leveraged to convene river basin platforms to address flood and earthquake risk holistically. EMB-National Capital Region supported the implementation of Project SUCCESS through its MaNaTuTi (Malabon Navotas, Tullahan, Tinajeros) River System Water Quality Management Area.

In the same event, Project SHAKE (Supporting Household and Local Government Unit Awareness and Knowledge for Earthquake Preparedness) was launched to engage, assist, and educate stakeholders and local government units in community earthquake preparedness.
