On September 26, 2017, the EMB-NCR conducted the Solid Waste Management Regular Meeting to provide a venue for the representatives of the Local Government Units to report and share the current initiatives that they implement within their respective jurisdiction. Said meeting was held at the Tanghalang Pasigueño, and was participated in by the Local Government Units of Las Piñas, Pateros, Makati, Marikina, Mandaluyong, Muntinlupa, Pasay, Parañaque, Pasig, San Juan, Taguig and Valenzuela.

On behalf of Pasig City Mayor Robert Eusebio, Engr. Allendri Angeles, Chief of Pasig City Solid Waste Management Office, welcomed the participants and representatives from the Metro Manila Development Authority, Department of Interior and Local Government, and the EMB-NCR.

Engr. Jean Borromeo represented EMB-NCR Regional Director Vizminda Osorio during the event. In her speech, Engr. Borromeo emphasized that the agency is strengthening its focus on Solid Waste Management, in line with the goal of the current administration of Secretary Roy Cimatu to strictly enforce the provisions of Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000. The regular meetings, she said, are all aimed to enjoin the Local Government Units in Metro Manila to consider and implement paradigm shift in the way they manage solid wastes within their jurisdictions.
