The EMB-NCR is committed in raising awareness of communities on the environmental challenges Metro Manila is currently faced with. In accordance with Republic Act 9512, otherwise known as the Environmental Awareness and Education Act of 2008, the Environmental Education and Information Unit (EEIU) of the EMB-NCR plays a vital role in disseminating information among the public, especially the schools, on how communities may be able to contribute in addressing environmental issues.

During the Tinig ng Kalikasan airing last July 8, 2016, Ms. Salvacion Aguinaldo-Solis, Head of the EEIU of the EMB-NCR provided a discussion on how Environmental Education brings positive impacts in a community’s awareness and recognition of their important role in environmental stewardship. It was emphasized by Ms. Solis that although the government has various environmental programs that are currently being implemented, the community members, through Environmental Education, are made aware of their roles in the protection of the environment.TINIG
