In celebration of the World Water Day, the EMB-NCR had its airing of Tinig ng Kalikasan on March 18, 2016, which was dedicated to the discussion of the current state of Metro Manila’s water bodies. To get insights coming from different perspectives, the EMB-NCR invited the DENR-NCR, Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC), and representative from the Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement Division (EMED) of the EMB-NCR.
The airing was graced by the presence of DENR-NCR Regional Director Lourdes Wagan, PRRC Public Information, Advocacy, and Tourism Committee Head George Oliver De La Rama, and Ms. Josephine Natividad, Environmental Management Specialist at the EMED under the EMB-NCR.
The discussion focused on the current initiatives of the government through the various agencies that have been working together to protect our water bodies. Also part of the celebration of the World Water Day on March 22, the public, especially the youth, was also encouraged to support the acitivities and programs of the government in environmental protection to realize how collective action plays a vital role in reaching a common goal.
