EMB National Capital Region through its selected employees from Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement Division EMED) Ambient Water Section (AWS) conducted water sampling at Maytunas Creek, Mandaluyong City last Thursday, January 14, 2021.
The collected samples will be analyzed to determine the current levels of Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Nitrates (N), Posphates (P), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), and Fecal Coliform.
They also used a Mutiparameter Water Quality Probe – YSI ProDSS water quality checker to analyze the water temperature, acidity (pH), salinity, and conductivity.
The said activity is in line with the ongoing Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program which will be celebrating its second year anniversary on January 29. EMB-NCR also conducts weekly water monitoring and sampling at the Manila Bay coastline and shoreline including tributaries that lead to the bay.
