In celebration of National Women’s Month and International Women’s Day held last March 8, the EMB-NCR highlighted how women in general play vital roles in environmental protection during the March 11, 2016 airing of Tinig ng Kalikasan. With the theme, “Kapakanan ni Juana Isama sa Agenda!”, prioritization of women in development plans is being pushed for. With this, the EMB-NCR took the opportunity to emphasize that in our society, women undeniably have great contributions in various areas especially in environmental protection; thus, women’s rights should be held in high regard so as to empower them to continue being our partners in environmental protection through instilling proper behaviors and practices in the communities where they belong to.
To give their perspectives on the significance of women in society specifically with regard to the environmental programs of the agency, Ms. Salvacion Aguinaldo-Solis, Ms. Maria Fe Rubio, and Mr. Gener Ramos of the EMB-NCR were invited during the airing. It was highlighted that women, especially mothers, have truly become the agency’s focus in promoting our activities and programs. The continuity of the implementation of environmental laws, especially in households, is greatly dependent on how women inform and educate the members of the family regarding the practices that they should adopt.
