World Water Day celebration through Mariblo Creek Clean-Up

In line with the celebration of World Water Day,  the EMB NCR, through the leadership of Regional Director Atty.  Domingo M.  Clemente,  Jr., led the estero clean up of Mariblo Creek located at Bulacan St.,  Brgy.  Bungad,  West Avenue,  Quezon City.


The clean up drive was staged by the different stakeholders of the Adopt-an-Estero/Waterbody Program of EMB-NCR, in partnership with Toyota North EDSA who were joined by partner government agencies which include MMDA, DPWH, DOH, DOST and DILG NCR, Bgy. Bungad Chairperson Hon.  Ricardo Corpus and his constituents,  and Quezon City’s EPWMD and NDRRMO personnel. This activity is also in line with the Supreme Court’s Continuing Mandamus Order to bring back Manila Bay’s water classification to Class SB.

Dr.  Wenceslao Blas, headed the DOH NCR team with Ms. Criselda Labaro and Engr. Ismael Camposano, distributed Doxycycline capsules as a health and safety measure to protect the participants.

A total of 164 sacks of garbage were collected. Simultaneous with the clean up activity was the distribution of IEC materials with short lecture on proper waste segregation and disposal to the residents living near the creek.
