EMB-NCR hosted the first coordination meeting for the celebration of Clean Air Month : Zero Emission in our cities on  October 11, 2017 at the EMB-NCR Conference Room.

Regional Director Vizminda  A. Osorio in her welcome remarks said, “The Crisis in our solid waste affects our water body and the air we breathe. We can not move forward if we won’t work together.”

The meeting was facilitated by Ms. Roselle Rivera of the Firefly Brigade, advocacy partner of EMB-NCR and an active member of the NCR Air Shed Governing Board.

During the meeting, the eight (8) LGUs which include Quezon City, San Juan City, Mandaluyong City, Paranaque City, Manila City, Makati City, Caloocan City and Taguig City

shared their initiatives and  good practices to achieve clean air through zero emissions:

Mr. Jack Yabut, the President of Firefly Brigade presented the plan of activities for November 19, 2017 in celebration of the Clean Air Month that includes their most awaited activity pegged as “The Firefly Tour.”  This year the bikers will pass through five cities starting from the city of San Juan to the cities of  Mandaluyong, Makati, Manila, Pasig and back to San Juan City . This year’s theme “KKB” stands for “ Kitang Kita ang Bisikleta”  also it means “Kalikasan Kalusugan at Bisekleta”  gives emphasis on the importance of bicycles in our main thoroughfares for absolute Zero Emission.
