QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Environmental Management Bureau National Capital Region, through the initiatives of the Human Resource Management & Development Unit (HRDMU) under the Finance and Administrative Division (FAD), conducted an Art Workshop for Differently-Abled Individuals with the theme “Ikaw, Ako, at ang Kalikasan” at Quezon Memorial Circle last Wednesday, June 29, 2022.

The social inclusion program started by opening remarks of Engr. Florence V. Velasquez, Chief, FAD, followed by Professor Charmaine Dianne V. Masangkay, Art Professor from UP Diliman University as the workshop facilitator.

Workshop participants were the four differently-abled employees of EMB-NCR and 12 differently-abled individuals accompanied by their guardians from Barangay San Vicente, Quezon City. The participants showed their creativity by painting their thoughts and ideas about caring for and loving the environment on eco-bags.

The activity is in line with the celebration of the Philippine Environment Month and aims to promote appreciation for the country’s natural resources through painting using recycled bags and served as an avenue for a livelihood program for the participants.

EMBNCR supports Republic Act No. 7277, also known as “Magna Carta for Disabled Persons.” An act providing for the rehabilitation, self-development and self-reliance of disabled persons and their integration into the mainstream of society and for other purposes.
