QUEZON CITY, Philippines – The Environmental Management Bureau – National Capital Region (EMB-NCR), through its Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS), conducted a lecture and workshop on the Gender Analysis and Tools using the Sex-Disaggregated Data (SDD) and a reorientation of the program on November 7 to 8, 2022, at the Luxent Hotel, Diliman, Quezon City.

Engr. Florence V. Velasquez, GAD Focal Person and Chief of the Finance and Admin Division (FAD), welcomed the participants with a heart-whelming message and provided an overview of the program, followed by a short introduction of the resource person. Ms. Jemelle Zamora-Millanes, of the Gender and Development Management Consultancy Services, started the presentation of GAD with EMB-NCR mandates to realign with the results of some of the Office’s programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) under the latest guidelines issued by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and other concerned agencies. Gender Analysis and Tools were also discussed and followed by a workshop determining the GAD-attributed activities of the Office.

On the second day of the workshop, GAD focal persons of the concerned units presented their outputs and were critiqued by the workshop facilitator. Ms. Millanes also presented a case analysis on mainstreaming Gender and Development concerns in EMB-NCR’s PPAs.
