METRO MANILA, Philippines – Environmental Management Bureau – National Capital Region, through its Gender and Development Focal Point System, held a free 40-hour Basic Pollution Control Officer (PCO) Training Course and Gender Equality Awareness for micro industries/establishments in NCR last August 22-26, 2022. The training is a hybrid course with three days of virtual sessions via zoom and two days of face-to-face sessions conducted at the EMB-NCR Conference Room.
Regional Director Atty. Michael P. Matias gave his opening remarks and congratulated the GAD committee for providing training that helps micro industries with limited funds to register in an accredited training institution and comply with PCO accreditation requirements.
The training will equip participants with knowledge and skills in environmental management and pollution control, necessary for PCO functions. It also aims to integrate Gender and Development into Environmental Obligations which aids in increasing the client’s awareness of the basic concepts and roles of women and men in the workplace.
EMB-NCR supports sustaining the country’s initiatives on Environmental Protection and the adoption and mainstreaming of the Magna Carta of Women (MCW).
