PASAY CITY, PHILIPPINES – The Environmental Management Bureau – National Capital Region (EMB-NCR), through its Ambient Water Monitoring Unit (AWMU), held a Memorandum of Agreement Signing with its donor partners of Adopt-an-Estero/Waterbody Program on October 26, 2023 at Hotel H2O.
This aims to highlight the commitment and dedication of our donor partners in their responsibility to aid and provide solutions to the waterbodies of the National Capital Region. To witness the renewal of their partnership with the Adopt-an-Estero/Waterbody Program, the event was also attended by the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources – National Capital Region, Metropolitan Environmental Offices – North, East, West, and South, Laguna Lake Development Authority, and Local Government Units of Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Manila, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Pasay, Quezon, Taguig, and Valenzuela.
The donor partners were warmly welcomed by EMB-NCR’s Regional Director Atty. Michael Drake P. Matias and expressed his gratitude for joining the bureau’s mission of conserving the waterbodies of NCR and restoring Manila Bay. He also took the time to look back and honor the Adopt-an-Estero/Waterbody Program efforts. This was followed by the presentation of Ms. Jennilyn C. Vicente on the Water Quality Status of the Adopted Creeks.
Following this is the MOA Signing Proper of the renewed donor partners: DOST-NCR, Malabon Soap & Oil Industrial Co, Inc., Toyota Body Repairs, Services for Environmental Testing, Co. LTD, Skyway O&M Corporation, Toyota North EDSA, Aseana Business Park Estate, CDO Foodsphere Inc., Innovative Packaging Industry Corp., Light Rail Manila Corp., Maynilad Water Services, AMKOR Technology Philippines, Inc., Mach Union Laboratories, Inc., PUP Sta. Mesa, Claro M. Recto High School, Manila Ocean Park, Asian Terminal Inc., Intercontinental Waste Disposal Systems, Inc., March Resources Corp., Flexo Manufacturing Inc., Vanson Paper Corp., and Maunlad Canning Corp.
The event also celebrated the joining of the Shimizu-Fujita-Takenaka EEI Joint Venture (SFTE-JV) in the Adopt-an-Estero/Waterbody Program. The SFTE-JV was represented by Engr. Antonio Aganon, Public Relations Department Head and By SFTE-JV Environment Department Personnel, briefly introduced their company profile and their advocacy for the environment.
The donor partners also expressed their support and gratitude for the program and ended the ceremonial MOA signing by the OIC Chief of the Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement Division, Atty. Linel C. Manayang.
