QUEZON CITY, Metro Manila – Environmental Management Bureau – National Capital Region successfully maintained its ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) certification last Thursday, May 26, 2022, through a 100% remote audit via Zoom Meeting by TÜV Rheinland, a company that established the pioneering international certification body in the Philippines.

The TÜV Rheinland auditors commended EMB-NCR for its recognition, including the Mark of Gratitude for the commitment and support that led to the 2021 Assessment of LGU’s Compliance with Manila Bay Cleanup Rehabilitation and Preservation Program.

Other positive findings are the upgrade of Air Quality Monitoring Stations through the procurement of 5 units of CAMS Analyzer for real-time monitoring of air quality. The auditors also commended the office for an experienced and efficient Internal Audit Team and the Environmental Education and Information Unit IEC campaign to target schools.

ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It is the most popular standard in the ISO 9000 series and the only bar in the series to which organizations can certify.

ISO 9001 ensures that all processes and issuances of all environmental-related permits, clearances & certificates, and monitoring of compliances to applicable environmental laws and regulations of establishments within the National Capital Region fulfill the requirements according to ISO 9001:2015 standard.
