QUEZON CITY, Philippines – The Environmental Management Bureau – National Capital Region held a meeting with the NCR AirShed Governing Board (ASGB) composing of the Executive Committee and Local Government Units. Some of the notable LGUs present in the meeting were Manila, Taguig, Makati, Quezon City, Malabon, Paranaque, Valenzuela, Navotas, Muntinlupa, and Las Piñas along with the representatives from Philippine Plastics Industry Association, Inc. (PPIA) and De La Salle University (DLSU).

To align with the objective of the meeting which is to strengthen the air quality monitoring network in NCR, an update on the recent air quality monitoring from the EMB-NCR’s Ambient Monitoring Unit was presented followed by the project for Air Quality Monitoring of the LGU, data sharing agreements, plans to upgrade the status of the NCR Airshed from Inactive to Active Airshed and re-election of a new set of ASGB Officers. Plans and programs for air pollution management were also discussed.
